Too Sick To Buy Life Insurance, Bogus

There is a preconceive notion that because someone has a health condition, or multiple health conditions, they cannot buy life insurance.  This is because they heard it from a friend, who is not in the insurance business.  It is possible they have been turned down by one or two life insurance carriers.  There is still hope, it just depends on your situation.

Generally speaking, some of the insurance carriers have personalities when it comes to pre-existing conditions.  By working with an insurance specialist that has access to more than one insurance carrier will be able to find out how the carrier will approve the policy.  Some insurance specialist may already know some of the personalities of the carriers they work with.  One carrier may put a higher premium, or surcharge, to cover the condition versus a competing carrier outright declining coverage.  It just depends on many factors such has age, single or multiple conditions, smoker or non-smoker, amount of insurance applying for, etc.  This gives more validity to working with an independent insurance specialist.

Some people will argue that the premiums are affordable if they have a pre-existing condition and the insurance company places a surcharge on the premium.  Some of them will even say it is unfair to pay more for the same amount of insurance.  The harsh truth is it is all relative.

If the price of food went up 300%, most people in America will not starve. They will readjust their income and/or expenses to cover the costs.  Life insurance is an important part of the financial planning and should adjust things to make it work.  It is just realigning priorities and reviewing them often.  You may not afford what you need to protect your family right now.  However, by laying the foundation and moving towards your financial goals is a great way to start.

There are people who will never be able to afford life insurance.  It's part of life.  It comes down to them and their financial goals.  As much as they want life insurance, they just cannot find the means to make it happen.  Unfortunately, we cannot wave a magic wand and make it happen.  They shouldn't give up.  If they want it bad enough for their financial plan, they will find ways to do it and make it happen.

All in all, there are solutions out there.  You just have to dig a little more and find an insurance specialist to work with.  Finding out how to better your situation, with or without pre-existing conditions, is a key element to achieving your financial goals.  Staying focused on those goals and doing what is necessary to meet them is very important to your family's financial protection.  After all, that is what we strive for.
